| 英文描述 | MALASSEZIA PACHYDERMATIS is found on normal canine skin, and in the ear canal, anal sacs, vagina and rectum. It is a lipophilic nonmycelial yeast with a characteristic slightly elongated oval shape, a thick wall, and unipolar budding. Dogs have had chronic dermatitis from which this organism was isolated and demonstrated histologically in affected skin. More than 1 dog in a group can be affected. Dx by identification of the organism, ruling out other diseases, and response to treatment. Stomatitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis caused by M. PACHYDERMATIS was described in a dog. Rare in cats, and typically presents as excessive greasiness, exfoliative dermatitis, and pruritus. |
